PAMP : Personal Apache, MySQL, PHP coming soon for S60 !

According to Johan Wikman (and his post), PAMP stack will be demonstrated and released in CCNC conference in Las Vegas in January, 2008!

PAMP stands for Personal Apache, MySQL, PHP, so yes, the full LAMP stack will be made available for S60 smart phones. In addition, there will be PHP extension modules that provide access to the core functionality of the phone. And on top of PAMP you can basically install any LAMP based content management system. For instance, Drupal can be installed off the shelf.

Yes, a fair amount of memory is needed and it's still pretty experimental stuff, but it runs quite nicely on E90.

So, if you are in the neighbourhood, join them in Las Vegas ;)

Call Manager

Call Manager by oneviewsystems is an advanced answering machine. The application enables the user to play or record voice message from a caller. This received voice message can be recorded automatically and played at user's wish. Instead all calls can be disconnected and an appropriate message can be automatically sent to the caller explaining the reason of not answering the call.

Main Features

- Call Log: Screen shows call history with call status (missed, received or dialed) and image indication for attachment. Following options are available in Call Log screen: Play the recorded message, Call selected number,
Send message, Add selected number to the contacts database, Delete selected number from call logs
- Voice Response: Like an answering machine, calls will be received by the CallManager. Caller's response will be recorded and files can be played back through the call logs screen.
- Reject + Send SMS: All calls will be disconnected and an appropriate message will be sent to the user explaining the reason of not answering the call.
- Record Conversation: Unlimited recording time.
- Priority List: Assign priorities to selected contact numbers to bypass voice response mode.
- Mute ringer: Sets the phone to silent mode.

Psiloc irRemote : For all by now !

If you still remember my last post about irRemote, i mentioned that it was available only for those Psiloc customers who have bought and activated any of Psiloc S60 3rd application on the device they are using now, but now, it's available for all of you ! ;)

If you cannot find the codes you need, you can upload your own ones and build your own remote control using the online wizard at http://irremote.psiloc.com. You can rank the codes you have added within 48 hours otherwise they will be deleted.

NB: The quality of IR LED varies between phone models and even particular devices within one model. It's not guaranted as psiloc said, that your phone will work with your IR equipment nor the range of IR signal.

[UPDATE] Audiobooks v1.03

Audiobooks has been updated to v1.03 with some minor fixes :

- Progress bar works now correctly also for the first converted file
- Corrected CD ripping problems: retry did not work
- Audio volume of converted books is increased for having easier listening in noisy environment
- "Audiobooks" directory now created to memory card if it does not exist, this was causing false error for not having enough space in memory card
